Growing Organization Charts From Traditional Methods

Wendt Partners is fifteen years old and a HubSpot partner just shy of a decade with forty members and growing – almost thirty of its current team are full-time (FTE) either in the U.S. or abroad.

Wendt Partners is still learning what the world requires today and what’s best. Doug Wendt tells Kevin Dunn that his business originated as a traditional company with a physical location, a copier on a lease, and a tiered phone system. Doug explains that Wendt Partners has used various freelance resources and is learning a lot about the different models of building and maintaining talent and how to build teams. Wendt Partners is ahead of the curve, changing how it seeks its talent.

Predicting the Need in the Future

“The first thing that I’ll say is that people often think that that's a financial decision, and actually, it’s not in most cases. And the reason is that a freelancer is a completely different economic model than FTE,” Doug explains. Doug elaborates that it’s not about the money; it is about predicting the need in the future. Hiring staff requires compliance with labor and state laws, especially when looking for talent outside the country.
