The Greater Washington Board of Trade has selected W. Douglas Wendt, President of Wendt Partners, to join the 2009 cohort of the organization's acclaimed Executive Networks program.
The Board of Trade is greater Washington's regional economic development and business leadership organization, bringing together business execuives, civic leadership and the economic development community to focus on the future of the world-class region that encompasses 27 counties in two states and the District of Columbia.
Executive Networks is a competitive application program in which individuals are selected by a steering committee to comprise a thirty person cohort each year. The cohort of Executive Networks participants then complete an intensive three month series of briefings, tours and working sessions with officials representing each of the region's key sectors including public policy, education, economic development, commercial real estate, transportation, media, tourism and nonprofit affairs. The program is led by James C. Dinegar, President & CEO of the Greater Washington Board of Trade.
“The Executive Network program is one of the only opportunities to immediately become entrenched into the activities of one of Washington’s most important organizations, and with other senior level executives," says Malcolm Marshall III, Senior Director of Cushman & Wakefield and an Executive Networks alumnus. Graduates of the Executive Networks program often go on to participate in additional regional leadership capacities ranging from nonprofit board engagement and Board of Trade advocacy to participation in the Leadership Greater Washington program.
